ikilledredridinghood asked: rare is the mare that is too bitchy to be ridden (that rhyme was unintentional but I'm leaving it there anyway). More like 'poor excuse for breeding and/or owning an animal I have no business caring for at my ignorance level'. To me its like "oh he's a stallion" that means he has no manners? Yes, they exist- and the ones I've been around were surgically altered...
fyi guys, broodmares and unrideable rank bitches...
It’s gotten to the point now whenever I see “broodmare prospect” move on— broomare should not be synonimous with unbroke fugly but thanks to craigslist and backyard breeders..
Someone sent me a free horse offer (the last thing I want is another horse, thanks though) and part of it’s description was “broodmare prospect”
The rest of the description was...
You Know Your An Equestrain when an eq lesson is...
never thought this would be relevent to me but dear god I love eq.

Since you have a trainer, why do you want critiques of your riding from other people? What if what they say goes counter to what your trainer says?
a lot of the adive I get from people online goes against what I know but I think it helps me get a more rounded idea of the industry even if it doesn’t help me directly. With things like...
Are you sure you are alright with driving a stick shift?
– I received this question at different car dealerships when purchasing my last three cars. Asked around to my male friends who drive stick shift cars and none of them have ever received this question. (via microaggressions)
My last roommate hates driving automatics, and very much prefers fast...
New Directions
With so many new opportunities coming my way in the horse world and the ever increasing number of people (expecially young people) following this blog, I’ve decided to make some changes.
1. 99% of my “opinion” posts not having to do with horses will be posted from my other blog. Some of my followers know about it, most don’t. If you want the link, send me a PM and...
lookhowshelightsupthesky asked: Your equitation looks soooo much better! You look smoother and more centered going over jumps. ((Disclaimer: I have never competed in jumping in my life nor studied with any amazing jumping trainers.))
Anonymous asked: I am so jealous of your eq.. It's amazing.. I remember you sayin a while bk that ur horses seem 2 be just costing money and u feel like ur never gona get anywhere.. well i think ur gonna go far with this amazing opportnity you have :-)
khotwheels asked: I just have to tell you that I think you're awesome! I've been following you for a little bit and find you very inspiring. Especially, the fact that you've done most everything on your own. I can only wish I'll be able to do the same! Also, congrats on finding a trainer and getting a chance to go after what you want!

lesson 3
My dad came tonights lesson and met Mr. Buxton— it was wicked cold out and I leave the office earlier than he does so I’m suprised/happy he was able to come out.
I rode Sterling again because last lesson we hadn’t really had time to focus on leads/lead changes and obviously from last shows videos that’s a big weakness for me. Most of that was because of the...

theperpetualfriend asked: The video of you on the grey is lovely! Having a coach that believes in your abilities makes a world of a difference. You seem like a very competent rider so I have a hunch that you will quickly see huge improvements with a knowledgeable eye on the ground! Kudos!

Lesson time… Los Colinas Equestrian Center in 2 weeks!!
notoriouslyychelseaaaaa replied to your post: I respect your right to HAVE an opinion, I don’t have to respect the opinion.
I didn’t mean to twist your words. I was just hoping you’d clarify and you did. Thanks!
no worries, that wasn’t directed at you!! I have 5 or 6 anons just blowing up over the “you dont respect opinion” nonsense.

ithinkshewinkedatme replied to your post: What do you think of vegans who oppose riding horses completely and say it’s exploitation and such?
Not all vegans think riding horses is exploiting the animal. Priorities is a very controversial thing IMO, what’s more important to you, isn’t to other people. I like animals more than people, and I tend to help animals more than people.
I’m not...
notoriouslyychelseaaaaa replied to your post: What do you think of vegans who oppose riding horses completely and say it’s exploitation and such?
:/ You can’t even respect their own opinions? What if they respect yours, but politely disagree?
sorry, I really should have clarified that.
No, I do not respect the opinion of someone who thinks horses shouldn’t be ridden.
I respect the...

Anonymous asked: My photo called bums rush has full copyright on it and has been taken without even asking me.
I got up and ready for work today and drove all the way to my moms house with something just short of a raging migraine. I keep getting these eye flare things and they don’t last long, maybe a few hours but the really mess with me. I think it’s a type of migraine but for me, it’s a new type. They make reading impossible because I get a glare right in the center of my vision....
Anonymous asked: I never send you anything off anon because we had a disagreement way back in the day, but I do love your blog and your dedication to your horses is inspiring. I follow your gf, too. You both seem like cool ladies. :)
ikilledredridinghood asked: My horse pulled a Jewel today. Only it was because bend right and move left was like I was asking him to put his nose in a grizzly bears face. The other direction was fine, but, dear lord... Any thoughts?

Who has two thumbs and is going to their first...
Off to my lesson with Mr Buxton and Sterling
I’ll try and get a photo of her :) she’s an angel
sometimes i wish i’d never started riding…
my life would be so much easier if I didn’t have horses.
heloiseagrippina asked: That anon was just describing disengaging her--I agree with this for bucking, but be VERY careful with using it for rearing. Or if you do it, just really make sure that she does not back up while you're doing it/turning her head. They try hard to get away from this, and my horse tries to escape it by backing up. Once they're in the position with their head to your knee they can't...
